Roehampton Grade 1 Quarterfinals

Sudanwa Sitaram defeated Agustin Velotti (3) 6-3, 6-3

Great day for FIST, Sudanwa downed World #5 and an alternate for the qualifying last week and now with the win he now gets a special exempt in to Wimbledon main draw.

7th May 2009:

Pune Super Series

A great start at the Pune Super Series for the FIST Trainees powered by Apollo Tyres, as they claimed 3 of the 4 Singles Titles up for grabs.

In the Girls Under 14 Singles Final, an all FIST affair saw Sansitha Nandakumar down teammate Teertha Iska 6-2, 6-4.  In the Girls Under 12 Singles Final Sneha Reddy defeated Akshara Iska in 3 tight sets.  Sahil Deshmukh claimed the Boys Under 12 Crown.  A great week was also capped off in doubles as Sneha Reddy teamed with Dhruthi Venugopal to win the Under 14 Doubles Championship.

Dellta Nationals U14 Girls:

• Sansita Nandakumar wins National Under 14 Girls Championship!!

  A great finish to a memorable week, Sansita Nandakumar won the Girls Under 14 National Championsip in Delhi defeating 2nd seed Prathana Thombare 5-7, 6-3, 6-2.  Heading in to the tournament as the 9th seed she knocked out the 7th, 1st, 12th and 2nd seeds in succesion to take the title.
